Commission an Original Painting
Would you like a painting created especially for your home, office, or another space?
I accept commissions for original oil and acrylic paintings, from smaller works to large-format pieces. You may have a specific image, place, atmosphere or colour palette in mind, or simply an idea you would like to explore together.
My work is particularly inspired by the sea, landscapes, light and atmosphere, but I am also happy to discuss other subjects that are compatible with my artistic style.
Bring Your Idea to Life
A commission can begin with something very simple — a photograph, a meaningful place, a particular atmosphere or feeling.
If you are looking for a custom painting inspired by a photograph, I can use your image as a reference while creating an original artwork in my own artistic style.
Each commissioned painting is individually created for you, with your ideas and references serving as inspiration rather than as a design to be copied exactly.
- Choose the feeling. Perhaps you are drawn to the calm of a misty morning, the warmth of sunset, the energy of the sea, or a particular landscape that has personal meaning.
- Shape the details. Together, we can consider the size, composition, colour palette, medium and other elements of the painting. If you are unsure about the size or composition, I can help you consider what may work best for your space.
- Share your references. You are welcome to send photographs, images of the space where the painting will be displayed, or examples of my previous paintings whose mood, colours or style you particularly like.
The Commission Process
1. Initial Enquiry
Tell me a little about the painting you have in mind. If you have reference photographs or a photo of the intended space, you can attach them to the form below.
2. Proposal and Price
Commissioned paintings start from €500, with the final price depending on the size, medium and complexity of the artwork. Non-standard and large-format works are quoted individually.
Once I understand your idea, size and requirements, I will confirm the final price and estimated completion and delivery timeframe before you decide to proceed. The quotation will clearly specify what is included in the price, including any framing, stretching and delivery arrangements where applicable.
3. Agreement and Deposit
The agreed details, timeline and revision options will be confirmed before work begins. A 30% deposit is required to secure your commission.
The remaining balance is payable after completion and approval of the painting, before shipping.
4. Composition and Approval
For commissions that require it, I will prepare a composition sketch for your approval before beginning the final painting. This is the main stage for agreeing on the composition and major elements of the artwork.
5. Creating Your Painting
Once the composition is approved, I will begin creating your painting. I will keep you informed about the progress and, when appropriate, send you a photograph of the work in progress.
Creating the painting itself usually takes up to 4 weeks, depending on its size and complexity. Oil paintings then require additional drying time before they can be safely packed and shipped. Large-format or heavily textured works may require a longer drying period.
6. Delivery
Once the painting is completed and ready for shipping, it will be carefully packed and sent by courier.
The finished painting will be signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Depending on the dimensions and destination, the artwork may be shipped stretched and ready to hang or, for larger works, rolled securely in a tube. Tracking information will be provided.
